Pi, Permits, and Programming
We are working on two approaches to the problem of the remote camera that will be used to monitor the coastline.
The first approach is using a Raspberry Pi, which is a kind of miniature computer. We have a camera and a GSM device so that the Pi can communicate with our servers to send the photos.
The second approach is developing an Android application that can take the photos and send them using the built-in camera on a cellphone. This is also in development.
The team is also working on obtaining permits for placing the camera on the beach, designing a weather-resistant case for the setup, and figuring out power supply using a solar panel.
